Dental Implant FAQs

How Much Do Dental Implants Cost?

Dental implants are an advanced restorative dental procedure that requires the skill of an experienced dental professional. The cost of dental implants can vary widely depending on the number of teeth missing, the condition of the bone and gums and the aesthetic goals. While treatment isn’t inexpensive, we urge patients to consider not just the dollars and cents of the treatment – but the value that dental implants can provide in terms of the improvement to dental health and quality of life.

The first step is to visit our Pennington dental office for a consultation. We will review your oral health and medical history to determine if dental implants are right for you. Then, we will review the cost of treatment as well as payment and financing options.

Are Dental Implants Covered By Insurance?

Despite the proven health benefits of dental implants, they’re often considered to be an elective procedure and generally are not covered by dental insurance. However, there are a variety of options available to help you pay for your dental implant treatment and our friendly staff can help you review your options.

Is Dental Implant Surgery Painful

Our goal is for you to be as relaxed and comfortable as possible during treatment. Dental implants are placed under local anesthesia, most patients report little or no pain or discomfort associated with the procedure. Once the dental implant has healed, you will not experience any dental implant pain and may even forget you have a dental implant!

How Much Pain Will I Feel After The Dental Implant Procedure?

There is generally little to no discomfort following the dental implant surgery. Our dental office staff will call in any necessary prescriptions in advance to prevent swelling and discomfort.

Do I Need To Follow A Special Diet After Having My Implants Placed?

We recommend a soft food diet for a few days.

How Do I Care For My Dental Implants?

You’ll care for your dental implants just like your natural teeth! Brushing twice a day and flossing once a day is very important for your replacement teeth. Even though dental implants are not subject to decay, the surrounding bone and gum require daily care. Good oral health and regular dental cleaning/exam visits are required to prevent gum disease/bone loss to ensure long-term success of the dental implants.

How Long Does A Dental Implant Last?

If a dental implant has been properly placed and fully integrated with the bone and is properly cared for, it will last 30 or more years. The first dental implant was placed in 1965 and was still with the patient when he passed away in 2006.

  • You have been such a great support in the care for our mother over these years. I wanted to keep her pain free and you helped us with that. The last miraculous feat was the saving of that front tooth that broke. It made me smile because she hated that her teeth were discolored. She would have LOVED that shiny white tooth!! Thank you for that and, for contributing to alzheimer's research in her name.

  • I always have an outstanding visit and just recently referred two more people who raved about the experience they had! The proper time and attention to detail is always taken on every appointment.

  • I didn’t go to the dentist for a while because I had bad experiences. Then a friend referred me to the Spa Dentistry office. I usually see Dr. Silk. I have a lot of confidence in him and am very comfortable with everyone in the office now. The office is beautiful and comfortable. Everyone is friendly and professional and always makes you feel comfortable. I had two bridges done that have worked out great! I highly recommend the dental group to anyone because they are very personable and always make me feel comfortable.

  • Just a little note of thanks for taking the time to deal with my big baby! He is terrified of the dentist and you made it a bit less scary for him. The tender pampering you and your staff offer goes a long way! Thanks a million.

  • I have been a patient of Dr. Vagnozzi Bucci Spa Dental Practice since April 2002 and I’m extremely happy. I have dental insurance that I cannot use at the office however, I still choose to go there. The whole staff is superior in their technical abilities, attitude and professionalism. Every procedure I have had done there has exceeded my expectations. Painless dentistry at its finest. I can not use enough adjectives to describe and praise these doctors and professional staff. It’s not the dentistry you remember from your childhood; this is the dental practice of the future.

  • I just wanted to thank all of you for taking such good care of my aunt while she and my uncle were in the states from Australia. They were thrilled with her new teeth and told us you were amazing! I know medical/dental care is no where near as good in the U.K. or Australia as it is here, so I am glad if she had to have treatment, it was done by you. Thanks you again; I owe you one, but hope you don’t need any physical therapy anytime soon...
