White SpotsAn Overview
It may seem contradictory to have white spots on teeth. These stains are actually an indication of the demineralization of tooth enamel which may or may not lead to cavities. Dr. Donna Vagnozzi-Bucci offers a revolutionary treatment for white spots on teeth for a significant improvement in the aesthetics and health of the tooth.
Most commonly, dentists and patients notice white spots on teeth after braces. During orthodontic treatment with metal braces, food particles and other debris may become trapped against the tooth, causing erosion of tooth enamel and leaving a white stain on teeth.

White Spots What to Expect
Dr. Vagnozzi-Bucci is one of the first dentists in Pennington to offer Icon dental treatment for white spots on teeth. This is a minimally invasive technique that helps to reinforce the tooth enamel and reduce the appearance of white stains on teeth.
How Icon Dental Treatment Works:
First, the dentist covers the gums and teeth for protection and comfort. Next, the affected teeth are cleaned and rinsed. Then, a hydrochloric acid, called Icon-Etch, is applied to the tooth and left on for approximately 2 minutes. The etching process produces a surface that is ready to accept the icon filling treatment.
For the next part of the procedure, the dentist applies a special Icon-Infiltrant solution to the tooth, which is set with a special curing light. A second layer may be applied for desired results. The tooth is polished to a smooth luster.
The Icon dental treatment results in a significant reduction in the appearance of white spots on teeth. This innovative treatment can help to stop the demineralization of tooth enamel and prevent the formation of cavities.
