The team at Family and Spa Dentistry in Pennington is participating in the National “Give Kids a Smile” campaign, sponsored by the American Dental Association (ADA). This campaign, which kicks off February 6, 2105, is designed to provide a national support network from which local dentists, like Dr. Vagnozzi-Bucci and her team, can provide dental services to those in need within their local community.
Benefits of routine dental care
Nationwide there are millions of children who do not receive routine dental care due to lack of dental insurance and financial need. These children are at much greater risk of developing dental health problems that can plague them for the rest of their life, often having an affect on overall health as well. Recent studies consistently show the connection between poor oral health and systemic diseases such as diabetes. People with poor oral health also have a higher incidence of cardiovascular disease.
The Give Kids a Smile campaign enables children in our local area to come to our Pennington family dentist office and receive routine dental care that can restore their oral health- and give them a confidence boost. A clean, healthy smile can make a child feel more confident in their ability to live a happy, healthy life! During their visit, their dentist will give them some oral hygiene tips to help them maintain their teeth and gums between visits and encourage them to brush and floss daily, emphasizing the importance of oral health. Patients will leave with an oral care bag including toothpaste, floss and toothpaste.
On Friday, February 6, 2015, from 2-6 PM, Dr. Vagnozzi-Bucci and her staff will offer dental services as part of this campaign. Family and Spa Dentistry is proud to be a part of this national campaign and to have an opportunity to make a difference in the health of a child.
